Hybrid Nonisocyanate Polyurethanes (H?NIPUs): A Pathway towards a Broad Range of Novel Materials

The increasing demand for using less toxic and dangerous products has fostered the development of nonisocyanate polyurethanes (NIPUs). Despite several years progress within search these novel materials, they are still facing difficulties to reach market. This may be due low mechanical properties obtained, which can explained by difficult access high molar masses polymers. combination NIPUs with other types polymers, thus forming polymer–polymer hybrid-NIPUs (so called H-NIPUs) an interesting alternative valorization though. review describes latest advancements in developments H-NIPUs, a specific focus on epoxy, polyacrylic, silicium-containing Finally, emerging field combining biopolymers is discussed. A synthetic challenges provided, as well their resulting influence onto final material properties, showing how synergistic polymers promising pathway toward formation materials.
